While Living in Paris from 1886 to 1888, Vincent Van Gogh (Dutch, 1853–1890) Painted More than 20 Self-Portraits. Lacking Funds, He Bought a Mirror and Used Himself as a Subject in Order to Pursue the Art of Figure Painting Without Having to Pay Fees to a Model. This Tote Features a Framed Detail from His Iconic Self-Portrait with a Straw Hat (1887) in the Met Collection.
